My name is Laura Guay,
I have been an art educator for 17 years. I have experience teaching EAL, I have
experience in differentiation, I have collaborated and worked with other
international schools organizing events. I have organized whole school art shows
that celebrate all the arts. 
I believe that creative arts inspire students to connect with the world around them
and communicate without using words. The arts challenge them to think creatively
and make a difference in the lives of everyone around them. I am passionate about
the arts and feel strongly that all can benefit from a high-quality and well-developed
arts program. I have been teaching the IB for 12 years and I have been a
part of all four programs.
Presently, I live in Shanghai and work for an IB international school for foreign children.

I teach at an IB world school. We teach PYP, MYP and DP. I am an MYP and DP Visual Arts teacher.

I want students to feel empowered, informed and in control of their behaviors in respect to the world around them. The art classroom should be a safe place for students to harness their creativity and use it for good or at least understand how the world and environment impacts their ideas.
